Stay at the beautiful Taypikala Hotel Deluxe Valle Segrado in Urumbamba. Dine on exquisite Peruvian Fusion Cuisine with the backdrop of the beautiful gardens and the sounds of the Urubamba River flowing by. Later travel by train and hike to world renowned Machu Picchu before returning back to Urubamba and then the vibrant city of Cusco.

The itinerary includes the perfect mix of guided embodiment practices, tours to sacred sites, vibrant markets and local cuisine, with personal time to be and reflect on the land.

Retreat Overview
​
Your premium retreat includes 11 days with 10 nights accommodations (7) at Taypikala Hotel Deluxe Valle Segrado in Urumbamba in the heart of the Sacred Valley, (2) nights in Aguas Calientes (hotel TBD) the doorway to Machu Picchu, and (1) night hotel in Cusco (TBD); group pick up and drop off from Cusco Airport on the first and last day of the retreat; entrance fees to all sites - Chinchero Weaving Center, Quillarumiyoc Moon Temple, Pisac Temple, Maras and Moray, explore the town of Ollantaytambo, Naupa Iglesia, explore the town of Aquas Calientes, guided hikes to Mandor Falls and sunrise ceremony at Machu Picchu, experience Pachamancha traditional cooking and shared meal, explore Urubamba, visit the alter near Cusco - Puca Pukara, Qenko, Sacsayhuaman, and Illapata, explore the downtown square of Cusco; all somatic practice classes with your teachers, all led hikes and teachings at the sites by Jorge Luis Delgado. Depending on timing, there will be an opportunity for a personal session with a shaman at an additional cost to you.
Meals: all dinners are a la carte, most breakfasts and lunches are included (delicious buffet with meat and vegetarian options). Taypikala Hotel Deluxe Valle Segrado includes a pool, spa facilities, a Maloka for practices, a labyrinth, meditation sound cave and beautifully appointed grounds on the banks of the Urubamba River.

Day 1
March 30
Domestic Travel Day
Arrive in Lima by 8am
Connect onto a domestic flight from Lima to Cusco, arrive at Cusco Airport 11:55H (subject to airline schedule)
Board bus and on the way to the Sacred Valley, on route we will make two stops. The first stop will be at the lookout to do a Kintu Ceremony to set an intention for your time in Peru.
Then onto a wonderful and fun visit to the Chinchero Weaving Center. Be prepared for a presentation and to shop for handmade wool and alpaca textiles. Check into the Hotel. Dinner a la carte at the hotel. Overnight in Urubamba.
Day 2
March 31
Buffet breakfast is included followed by a morning Somatic/Embodiment practice. Enjoy some quiet time to explore the hotel grounds, relax or journal. Buffet lunch is included then after lunch we will depart on an afternoon adventure to Quillarumiyoc (Temple Dedicated to the Moon). Dinner is a la carte at the hotel followed by an evening fire ceremony at the hotel Moray Temple. Overnight in Urubamba.

Day 3
April 1
Buffet breakfast is included followed by an excursion towards Urco for a Chicha Ceremony. Then explore the Pisac Market, enjoy lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants. Then onto the Pisac Temple for a hike and sunset. Dinner is a la carte at the hotel followed by music and spontaneous dance in the Maloka led by Carrie & Nicole. Overnight in Urubamba.
Day 4
April 2
Buffet breakfast is included followed by a morning Somatic Embodiment practice. Enjoy quiet time to explore the hotel grounds to go to the spa. Buffet lunch is included at the hotel. After lunch we will visit the Maras and Moray for the afternoon. Dinner will be a la carte at the hotel followed by a group Solar Activation Practice. Overnight in Urubamba
Day 5
April 3
Buffet breakfast is included followed by a morning Somatic Embodiment practice. Enjoy quiet time to relax, explore or go to the spa. Buffet lunch is included at the hotel. On the hotel grounds, we will have a short ceremony of the Sun with Jorge in the Ukupacha (cave)Temple. Then onto Ollantaytambo to enjoy the culture, markets, shops and perhaps a hike. Then at the hotel in the evening enjoy an a la carte dinner, a Cuyalimpa Ceremony with the stones for healing, and if you choose, an individual Karpay Healing Session with a local Shaman. Overnight in Urubamba.
Day 6
April 4
Buffet breakfast is included followed by a trip to Naupa Iglesia which includes a hike. A boxed lunch will be provided and then in the afternoon we will go back to the hotel for an Integration/Somatic Embodiment practice. Dinner is a la carte followed an exploration into Sound in the meditaiton cave on the hotel grounds. Overnight in Urubamba.
Day 7
April 5
Buffet breakfast is included then an early departure to catch the train to Agua Calientes. A boxed lunch will be provided for this trip. Upon arrival we will immediately hike to the entrance for Mandor Falls and then continue hiking into the forest to the Falls. We will relax and enjoy the falls (feel free to take a dip!) and then hike back to Aquas Calientes where you can enjoy your evening exploring, enjoying all the amazing food and sites. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Day 8
April 6
An early buffet breakfast is included then walking down to the bus that will take us to Machu Picchu for a Sunrise Ceremony and several hours discovering the magic of this sacred place. On your own time, you can take a bus back into Aguas Calientes or consider hiking down to the town to enjoy an a la carte lunch at one of the many fantastic restaurants in Aquas Calientes then spend the rest of the day exploring, shopping or soaking in the Hot Springs. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Day 9
April 7
Buffet breakfast is included, then we will walk down to the train station and make our way back to Ollanta Train Station and then bus back to the hotel. Back at the hotel, you will experience Pachamanca Traditional Cooking outdoors in the hotel gardens. Traditional meals typically consist of more than one meat (guinea pig/chicken) however, vegetarian options will be provided. This is a rest day for you to swim in the pool, have a spa day, go for a walk to visit a local community. Enjoy your last day in the Sacred Valley and then we will meet as a group for an a la carte dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Urubamba.
Day 10
April 8
Buffet breakfast is included. Then we will travel by bus to visit the altars near Cusco; Puck Pukara, Qenko, Sacsayhuaman and Illapata. We will have an onsite ceremony to bring the retreat experience to a close at the Temple of the Heart. Following this we will bus into Cusco where you can enjoy the town and go out for a meal. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 11
April 9
Buffet breakfast is included then on the right time the bus will transfer us to the Cusco Airport to fly to Lima and then home.

Refunds and Cancellations: Refund less deposit (USD $500) before end of day (EST) February 12, 2024. No refunds after February 12, 2024,
In case of cancellation, you may transfer your deposit or your reservation to another person as long as you notify Kontiki Tours 45+ days in advance. Due to arrangements made with our vacation hosts, there can be no exceptions to this policy. After reserving your spot, the balance owing in USD is to be paid to Kontiki Tours.
Participants will be required to sign an application and liability waiver to participate on this trip.
